Coveting Sophie Digard

I have just placed my Spring/Summer order for scarves from Paris textile artist Sophie Digard.

Sophie’s exquisite “millefiori” scarves are meticulously hand crocheted in both linen and merino wool. The colour combinations are magnificent and unique to each scarf; the designs are kaleidoscopic and intricate – requiring hours of hand work and making them true works of art.

Choosing from the wide array of designs is a real feat – each one uniquely beautiful in its own right … and then to choose the colour combinations … its almost too much for one mind to take!!

However, with these pieces each being such stand outs, one can hardly go wrong by choosing any one of the multiple options … and there always is next season!

These are pieces you will love for a life time, perhaps even collect and the young women in your life will hope to be graced with them upon your passing!

Pure Joy

I was speaking last time about the excitement of the coming season and all the FABULOUS new styles which are, as we speak, being built by cobblers around the world and soon to be delivered to Shoe Kat Shoo!

I realize that for me, there is actual and genuine joy in a wonderful pair of shoes. Beauty makes my heart sing and although it may make me sound a bit frivolous, if it manifests in a pair of shoes, then I’ll take it!!

Speaking of joy, I found this the other day in my online travels … it is from a few years back and you may have seen it already, but it too makes my heart sing!

IT WON’T BE LONG, YEAH!

At the risk of sounding fickle … I can hardly wait to see the new styles that will be here soon! I expect to start seeing new stock any day … first a trickle and by March a flood of new and wonderful styles … you’re going to love them!

I will be attending the Accessories Show in Toronto at the end of January searching for amazing scarves, hats, handbags and anything else that strikes my fancy … and although it sounds crazy, I go at the end of February to buy shoes and boots for next fall/winter.  It always feels a bit odd to be shopping for fall/winter just as we are slowly entering spring, or shopping for summer just as that season draws to a close.

Well rested and well fed …
